Challenge: imagine you are a journalist that is going to interview a New Zealand athlete that competed at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Choose an athlete that you would want to interview. Who would you want to interview? What are some things that you want to ask them?

You must ask at least 7 questions. Then put yourself in the Olympians shoes, do some research if you need to, and then answer the questions from the Olympians point of view.

Start writing your script here:

Manaia: Hi my name is Manaia and I am a student at Pt England School and this week we have been learning about the Olympics. I have some questions for you to answer first of all. If you weren't kayaking what would you be doing ?

Lisa Carrington:I would be doing netball. Because when I was little, I think 5 years old, I played netball. I loved it so much and it was actually my dream to be a Silver Fern. But here I am. I mean, I wouldn’t change it now but Yeah, I would probably go with a Silver Fern.

Manaia: Wow that is amazing. I used to play netball for my school when I was younger. So moving on, if New Zealand lost the olympics were would you go and what would you do

Lisa Carrington: If new zealand lost the olympics i would go and play netball and try join the silver ferns

Manaia: Do you have any siblings and what are their names?

Lisa Carrington:Yes I have 2 brothers. Their names are Shaun and Brett. I actually joined them on their surfing trips, and that’s how I came to love the water so much. It runs in the family I guess.

Manaia:  I have 3 sisters, I’m the oldest. That's amazing next question What does It feel like to be One of the most successful  kayak sprinter

Lisa Carrington: Thanks for asking It feels great to be one of the most successful kayak sprinters

Manaia: That's great to hear have you always wanted to be a successful kayaker [p`

Lisa Carrington: No I actually wanted to be a successful silver fern

Manaia: That's amazing to hear If you had 2 choices 1 to be a silver ferl or start a successful Kayaking sprinting

Lisa Carrington: I would go and join the silver ferns even If i'm not a successful silver fern I still would choice the silver ferns

Manaia: Nice to hear that you would pick the silver ferns over a successful kakaking how did you get so successful

Lisa Carrington: It all started when I was playing netball then my dad signed me up for kayaking and I keepted going and going then i joined the olympics and now I am a successful Kayaker
